TEST RESULTS WITH ALLERGEN COMPONENTS HELPS TO REFINE DIAGNOSIS

Detecting sensitization to individual molecular allergens1

ImmunoCAP™ Allergen Components, which are purified native or recombinant proteins, offer the opportunity to assess a person's allergen sensitization pattern at the molecular level. Different component groups often elicit different types of reactions, so testing them can indicate if a patient's prior symptoms or positive test results were caused by allergy to a given substance or by a cross-reaction with another allergen. Test results with allergen components also help the clinician weigh a patient's risk of systemic reaction versus a more mild or localized response.

Allergen components are not all equal

Manufactured using recombinant or native purified material, more than 100 ImmunoCAP Allergen Components are available, including components from:

  • Pollens
  • Foods
  • Venoms

  • Occupational allergens
  • Molds
  • Mites
